I officially felt like an extreme couponer today. With 35-item grocery list and 26 coupons in hand, I was in and out of Kroger in 16 minutes. Saving $29 in coupons and $30 in Kroger discounts isn’t bad for 16 minutes!
With the exception of one, all of these coupons were printed from the Internet. Most of those coupons aren’t available to be printed anymore, but I printed them when I saw them available 2-3 weeks ago, hoping for a sale like this to come before their expiration. It worked! Most of these items were a part of the “Buy 10, get $5” event, so I made sure to get 30 participating items.

when i got home and looked at my receipt i was pretty upset. i had accidentally picked up a 24-slice package that was $5.79 (not on sale like the 16-slice package), and not only did i not catch it, but the cashier accidentally rang that one up twice! not happy! i need to watch the scanner better!
UPDATE: I just couldn’t swallow a $15 mistake (it cost me the $5 because the larger packages weren’t part of the mega event). So I went back to Kroger, switched out the cheeses and gave me a refund.

I also got a $5 off my next order coupon from Kraft for puchasing 5 participating items! (this offer is good through 9/15. Go to couponnetwork.com for details)
Lessons learned:
1. print coupons for stuff when they’re available online; there is usually a limit and once that limit is reached, they won’t be available.
2. the item won’t likely be on sale at the time you print it. hold on to it and wait for the sale. my capri sun coupons expired tomorrow and i’m glad i held on to them!
3. watch the screen as the items are scanned!!!!!!!!
