I knew I was getting old when I started liking green beans. Several years ago a family from my in-laws’ church brought food when my father-in-law was sick, and since we lived in the guest house at the time, we were invited over. I’ll never forget trying these green beans and thinking that they were delicious! (It really is a miracle I even tried them; I hated green beans THAT much!) There seemed to be a sweetness I had never tasted and I really wanted more!
Not long after that, our MOMs class from church hosted a thank-you meal for the men and women who work with our children at church, and two of the moms made green beans unbundled. I’m not sure if it was the same recipe, but it had to be similar. This is my absolute favorite way to cook green beans. Definitely not the healthiest, though! 🙂

I love to serve this with baked ham or baked pork.
