My husband and my best friend both saw what you see in the above picture and had the same reaction: laughter and rolling eyes. But I was pretty proud of the deal I got on these laundry supplies. Yes, I used to make my own laundry detergent, but when I can get Tide that frankly cleans better and smells better for even cheaper than it costs me to make my own detergent, I’m going this route.
This deal is still good at Kroger through Tuesday. Kroger is having a What a Deal Mega Event where if you purchase 5 items you get $5 off. Combine this with coupons and a rebate from Proctor & Gamble, everything you see above is only $20. Here’s the scenario:
Purchase 2 Bounce Dryer Bars ($3.99 wyb5) and 1 Tide Detergent ($4.99 wyb5)
Use $3/3 Tide or Bounce items from September Proctor & Gamble insert
Purchase 2 Tide Detergents ($4.99 wyb5)
Use $1.50/2 Tide items from September Proctor & Gamble insert
Purchase 2 Tide Detergents ($4.99 wyb5)
Use $1.50/2 Tide items from Proctor & Gamble Web Site
Purchase 1 Tide Detergents ($4.99 wyb5)
Use $1/1 Tide Kroger ecoupon (download to your Kroger card)
Pay $30.92 out of pocket
Submit receipt and form to Proctor & Gamble for $10 gift card with the purchase of $30 in Tide, Bounce, or Downy products here: www.pglaundryrebate.com/
That makes the total for all of this $20.92.
I chose the Bounce dryer bars over Downy fabric softener because one dryer bar lasted me 6 months last time (compared to 6 weeks for Downy), and nothing is more convenient. Also, with the Tide liquid detergent, I use less than half of the recommended amount and it cleans our clothes just fine. One bottle lasts me about 3 months (although the bottle says 32 loads).
So, for a little over $20, I have about 18 months worth of detergent and 12 months of fabric softener.
Some other stock-up Kroger deals I found as part of the Buy 5 Mega Event are:
Philadelphia Cream Cheese: $0.99
Kraft American Cheese: $1.49
Skippy Peanut Butter: $1.99
But remember, these deals are only good through Tuesday.
