My Kroger shopping trip today has got to be my greatest accomplishment yet! I saved 70% total on the items I purchased today. I stocked up on some main staples at our house and was able to purchase some items to donate to our church’s food pantry. I couldn’t wait to share this because everything I did today, anyone can do with just a little preparation.
Here’s what I got at Kroger:
Lucky Charms – 9 (16-oz) boxes – average of $1.05 per box
Reg Price: $4.99
Sale: $2.50
Buy 6 get $6 off next shopping trip event: $1.00 off
Coupons: I had 2 $1.50 off 3 and 1 $1.00 off 3 coupon (The $1.00 off was from a SmartSource insert, and the 2 $1.50 coupons were given to me after I purchased Lucky Charms at K-mart a couple of months ago. Although it said “redeemable at K-Mart,” I saw that it said “manufacturer coupon” so I tried it. It worked, and the lady said it always depends on whether it scans or not. I had decided that even without that coupon, the cereal was lower than I’ve ever gotten it. Also, these were the 16-oz boxes, not the 11.5 oz small boxes that I usually find on sale for about $1.50. So this was a great deal! I saved almost 80% and got enough Lucky Charms to last me almost a year! 🙂
Betty Crocker Potatoes – 6 boxes, $0.50 per box
Reg. Price: $1.69
Sale: $1.50
Buy 6 get $6 off next shopping trip event: $1.00 off
I have been trying to get away from processed food like this, but for a busy weekday, these potatoes work great in a pinch. This should last me 6 months to a year, but if our church’s food pantry ever needs boxed potatoes, I’ll definitely have a few to donate!
Hamburer Helper: 3 boxes, $0.25 per box
Reg. Price: $1.67
Sale: $1.50
Buy 6 get $6 off next shopping trip event: $1.00 off
Coupons: $0.75 off 3 (from SmartSource newspaper insert)
We don’t Hamburger Helper normally (I think we got burned out on it when we were in college!), but I bought these to donate to our church’s food pantry.
Ritz Crackers: $2.00 per box
Reg. Price: $3.19
Sale: $2.00 per box
I use Ritz Crackers for a couple of chicken and rice meals, so I thought I’d take advantage of this sale. I couldn’t find any coupons to match with them, however.
Eggs: $1.00 per dozen
Reg. Price: $1.67
Sale Price: $1.00
I haven’t seen eggs this price since Easter, so I thought I’d get a couple of dozen.

Pillsbury Crescent Rolls, 4-count: $0.73 each

Reg Price: $2.99
Register Rewards: $2.00
Coupon: $0.55 (two from two separate SmartSource coupon inserts)
*I had to do these in 2 transactions to get them to print 2 register rewards

Reg. Price: $2.79
Sale: 2 for $5, 1 for $2.79
Register Rewards: $2.00
Coupon: $1.00 off 3 that I printed off kelloggs.com
We’ve never eaten Pop Tarts, but I thought I might try and see if Alyssa might like it to eat on occasion.

Reg. $3.29
These deals at Kroger are good through tomorrow – May 29 – and the deals at Walgreens are good through Saturday. Happy shopping!

Good Job Jill!! I wish we had a Kroger! I was just searching for any coupons on things I need before we head to the store 🙂

Have you checked to see if Kroger has any affiliates in your area? If they don’t, I’m sure you have grocery stores that have similar sales.
