My key to saving money on groceries is finding items at their lowest and stocking up! In looking through this week’s Kroger ad, here are the best deals I’ve found. Some won’t lend to stocking up, like sour cream, but if you have recipes that can use these items, these are great deals. Let me know if you find this helpful!
Ground Chuck: $2.49/lb.
This is most likely not a rock bottom price, but in the past 3-4 months or so, I haven’t been able to find ground chuck for less than $2.89/lb.
Picnic Pork: $0.99/lb.
This is what I used for my Rio Salad.
Red Seedless Grapes: $1.99/lb.
Ball Park Franks (excl. beef & cheese): $1.25 per pack.
Eggs: $1.00/dozen
Pillsbury Grands or Crescents: as low as $0.75
On sale for $1, plus $0.40/3, (doubled to $0.80/3) from April 1st SmartSource coupon insert in Sunday paper.
Sour Cream: $1.00 for 16-oz. package.
I stocked up on this about 6 months ago and tried to freeze them. It did not work! So only get what you can use!
Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ Sauce: as low as $0.50
On sale for $1.00, less coupon from the May 20th SmartSource insert in Sunday’s paper ($0.50 off two, doubled). If you don’t have the coupon, $1.00 is still a great deal for this delicious bbq sauce – my family’s favorite!
Betty Crocker Potatoes: as low as $0.50 per box (reg. $1.69)
On sale for $1.50, also part of the Buy 6 and save $6* off your next shopping visit (mix & match).
Hamburger Helper: as low as $0.50 per box
On sale for $1.50, also part of the Buy 6 and save $6* off your next shopping visit (mix & match).
Lucky Charms & other General Mills Cereal: as low as $1.00 per box
On sale for $2.50, part of the Buy 6 and save $6* off your next shopping visit (mix & match), plus print off $1.00 off two coupon at coupons.com.
Toaster Streudel & Toaster Scrambles: as low as $0.60 per box
On sale for $2.00, also part of the Buy 6 and save $6* off your next shopping visit (mix & match), plus $0.40 off two (doubled) found in the March 11th Sunday newspaper SmartSource coupon insert.
Ritz Crackers: $2.00 per box
Lay’s Kettle-Cooked Chips: as low as $1.50
On sale for $2.00, plus print off $0.75/2 at Common Kindness, which will “double” to $1.00/2.
Heinz Ketchup (32-40 oz): as low as $1.49
On sale for $1.99, plus $0.50/1 coupon from May 20th Smart Source coupon insert in Sunday’s paper.
*The “Buy 6 Now & Save $6 on your next shopping visit” will print out a $6.00 coupon after your purchase. In the calculations above, I calculated that each product would get an extra $1.00 off (even though it isn’t an instant savings, it is savings on that product, just delayed). Be sure and buy in quantities of 6. If you buy 11, you’ll only get one $6 coupon. Usually these coupons are good for 10-14 days, so be sure and use them for your next shopping trip!

This would be great, if I had a Kroger closer than Russellville 🙁
