In an effort to get more nutrition from my breakfast and go beyond my normal granola bar, I found this peanut butter banana smoothie idea from an Ellie Krieger’s cookbook. I’m not normally a smoothie person, but I have to say I LOVE this one! It’s so easy and quick, and it’s a very nutritious way to start my day! I also wait until I’m about ready to leave the house to run the blender, which serves as a good wake-up call for my kiddos. 🙂
Ingredients:
1 banana, cut in slices and frozen
1/2 cup lowfat yogurt (I use vanilla)
1/2 cup milk
1 tablespoon peanut butter
Blend, and done!
This smoothie gets me a good amount of potassium, fiber, and calcium.
I bet Elvis would have loved it!
Mix it up by using strawberries, bananas, skim milk and ice, or reduced fat peanut butter, bananas and yogurt, or 2 tbsps of cheesecake fat free sugar free pudding mix and strawberries, milk and ice for strawberry cheesecake. I am on the body by vi shake diet and have lost 7 pounds! Woohoo!!
Great idea! I will have to try the cheese cake idea. That sounds yummy! And congrats! 🙂
